‘Chiquilla.’ A 2006 oldie in the Mexican cumbia style, which is an offshoot of Columbian cumbia. This one isn’t only a northern-style cumbia track—but from all the way north to San Antonio, Texas, giving it plenty of keyboards and pop music blended in, as well. “Chiquilla” tells the story of a girl whose parents don’t approve of her boyfriend. Notable: A.B. Quintanilla III is the older brother of the late Tejano star, Selena.
