‘Perihelion.’ The composer and pianist Max Richter has drafted a string section for his latest single, “perihelion”—which means the point where a planet, or any heavenly body, is closest in its orbit to the sun. Featuring violin, viola, and cello, it’s a warm celebration of high summer—coming soon to the Northern Hemisphere, if perhaps not soon enough.
